Ladies and gentlemen! In fact, mostly ladies. Are you in the mood for a great confession?
Actually, maybe not so great, but it certainly is confession. Perhaps it may be huge in terms of that it was hard to roll it out of lips. Sit back and fasten your seat belts, we're taking off. :)
All of you who follow this blog (or at least occasionally drop in) are clear with my love for all dusty and forgotten pieces grabbed from shelves of vintage shops.
You might be surprised, therefore, that for me there is one thing hard to succeed in, and that is puting my love into right frames. To be more precisely, classifying certain styles and clothes in a certain fashion era.
Guidelines are definitely known, no question about that, but I'd be happy if I could say with certainty-
this shirt belongs to the 50's, and that hat is from the 30's. Period.
So I'm having one request for you- I'm looking for literature that would spread a little knowledge of the history of fashion and style. If you have read or even just heard of a book that would fit this description, please let me know! My curiosity will be so grateful to you. :)
About the findings, I couldn't be more happy about these shoes than I am right now. They are from local thrift shop and since I was looking for brown flates for ages, I was so glad when I found them finally.
There's also red polka dot shirt hanging from a tree. Is this collar detail adorable or what? Oh, in the meantime, I managed to burn it with the iron. :/
Also, I needed one more red and blue scarf. And Sheldon? He was asleep, I didn't want to disturb him. Because it's a rare opertunity for a cat to get some good sleep these days, you know. -.-
