ANATOMY of Flight Attendant Uniforms

Kako sam kombinirala svog pernatog ljubimca pogledajte u nastavku. Stoga zavežite pojaseve, udobno se smjestite jer upravo polijećemo.

Anyone, who at least once rode the train to Zagreb, knows very well that the first thing he saw when leaving the platform of the the main railway station, is this beautiful building. It's name is the Art Pavilion and it served as a wonderful background of today's post in which we do not ride the train, but a plane, inspired by a hat with the working title "flight attendant goes hunting." :D
♥♥♥
World-known fact is my personal paradox that I like uniforms, but not uniformity. Equally well known is the fact that a former flight attendant uniforms were designed by giants such as Balmain, Pucci and many others. In the past, the stewardess was a model of sorts - each women had to measure a certain height and weight propotion, be attractive and- single. Nevertheless, their uniforms were indicative of the current fashion trends which ruled "on the ground".
♥♥♥
Ellen Church, the first stewardess in the history, was wearing a wool cape over a skirt suit and a nurses cap, in order to reassure the passengers and give the impression of top professionalism. Certainly, uniform differed depending on the airline company and some of them had a two-tone shoes and a bright, pastel suits ad their trade mark. In the 70s flight attendants for the first time were dressed up in pants, after a very short dresses and neon colors that ruled the skies in the sixties.

Pierre Balmain was responsible for the introduction of the pillbox hat in the air fashion. He paired it up with black or white gloves. From the catwalk to the airstrip, from the plane to the streets, this hat has become an inspiration, which continue even today. Decorated with veil, lace or, as in this case- feathers, it will surely attract everyone's attention. How did I pair it, you can see below. So buckle up your seat belts, make yourself comfortable because we're taking off.
